Laconia—Adrienne “Adie” Roselyn Hounsell, formerly of 15 Chestnut St, Lakeport, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Golden View Health Care Center, Meredith.
Adrienne was born November 11, 1929 in Concord, N.H. The daughter of Joseph and Laura Landry, she moved with her family to the Lincoln area where she met her future husband and lifelong companion Gordon “Buster” Hounsell. She lived most of her life in Lakeport before moving to Edgewater, Florida in 1984, then returning to New Hampshire in 2008.
Adrienne was well known as a waitress for over 30 years at St. Pierre’s Restaurant in Laconia. She enjoyed most, her family, her pets, and music. She could often be found around the card table and enjoyed music. She had an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile that could light up any room.
Adrienne was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Gordon Hounsell Jr. She is survived by two sons, Gordon C. Hounsell, III and his wife, Cheryl , of Laconia and Kent L. Hounsell and his wife, Carolyn, of Edgewater, Florida; two daughters, Charlotte E. Wood of Port Orange, Florida and Johnna-Dee Davis and her husband, Greg, of Gilford; her grandchildren who she held dear, Chari Szepanski and her husband, Joe, and daughters, Tabatha, Sabrina, and Leeza of Northfield, Clifford Hounsell and his children, Caleb, Taylor, and Felicity of Laconia, Jennifer Perkins and her husband, Max, and daughter, Lily, of Laconia, Danielle Berry and daughter, Brynn, of Winnisquam, Christina Hounsell of Nashua, Julia Davis of Gilford, Second Class Petty Officer Andrew Hounsell, his wife, Cindi Blackman, and children, Aurora Rose-Marie Hounsell, William Patrick Hounsell and Andrew Leon Hounsell Jr. stationed in Bahrain, Second Class Petty Officer Jonathon Hounsell stationed in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Joshua Hounsell of Lynchburg, Virginia. She also leaves behind three sisters, Rose Roy of Edgewater, Florida, Marie Gilbert of Portsmouth, N.H. and Lorraine Millette of Micco, Florida. In addition to her parents and husband, Adrienne was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Landry.
According to Adrienne’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. There will be a graveside service held at a later date.

George V. Lacroix Jr. 8/30/2013

GILFORD – George V. Lacroix Jr., 82, of Gilford, died Saturday, August 30, 2013 at Mass General Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born on March 25, 1931 in Concord, NH, the son of George V. Sr. and Marjorie E. (McGuire) Lacroix. He was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Lacroix Joyal of Concord, NH. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann M. Lacroix of Gilford and three children; Michael N. Lacroix and his wife Roxane of Chesterfield, NH, Susan Lacroix of Kingston, NH and Lt. Col. Thomas G. Lacroix, USMC and his wife Colleen of Omaha, Nebraska and six grandchildren; Danielle, Celine, Elise, Campbell, Carleigh and Thomas George Lacroix II.

He was employed for 32 years in the miniature precision bearing business with NH Ball Bearings and M.P.B Division of Timken Company. Following his retirement, he founded and operated Handpiece Technology Inc. for several years.

He was a Korean War Veteran in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was a flight engineer on a B-29 aircraft in the 98th Bomb Wing stationed at Yakota A.F.B., Japan. He served as President of the Laconia Kiwanis Club and as President of the Lakes Region Industrial Management Club. He served on the advisory board of Our Lady of the Lakes Church in Lakeport and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed the Great North Woods and was active in tennis, fishing, skiing and visiting his family.

Memorial calling hours will be held from 10AM to 12 Noon on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance. A memorial mass will be celebrated immediately after at 12:30 PM on Thursday at St. Andre Bessette Parish –St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N.H. Burial with military honors will be held at 3PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.

LACONIA – Kay Ellen Sawyer, 59, of 1156 North Main Street, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born in Massachusetts, the daughter of Monty Duval Heslop and Erline (Moreau) Reilly. Kay worked as a nursing assistant for many years. Kay was a loving, gentle, kind spirited daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. Family and friends were the focus of her life. Kay was selfless and generous to a fault. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. In addition to her mother of Penacook, she is survived by one son, David Virgue of Gilmanton; one daughter, Teresa Burgado of New York, NY; one brother, Rex Reilly of Penacook; one sister, Fay Reilly of Conway; four grandchildren; Angelina Matos, Yansi Matos, Jolia Curry and Mason Virgue. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael Virgue and one brother, Andrew Reilly. A celebration of life will be celebrated from 1PM to 4PM on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage house entrance. Burial will be private.

Gilford—–Shirley Linnea Olson, 78, of 2600 Lakeshore Road, passed quietly with the comfort of her family at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Monday, September 2, 2013.

Mrs. Olson was born December 1, 1934 in Arlington, Mass., the daughter of the late Albert and Astrid (Larson) Peterson. She resided in Chelmsford, Mass. for several years before moving to Gilford permanently. She summered at Lake Shore Park since 1957 and wintered in Fort Myers, Florida since 1994.She had been employed at Filene’s in Burlington, Mass. for twenty-seven years. In younger years, she worked as a professional model in Springfield, Mass. She enjoyed boating, beaching, swimming and skiing.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Herbert J. Olson, of Gilford; three daughters, Christine Marie Roaf and her husband, Bruce, of Hampton, NH, Jo-Ann Olson-Thompson and her husband, Steven of San Diego, Calif. and Debbie Linnea Rich, of Ayer, Mass.; four grandchildren, Erik Roaf and Amy Roaf, Kelcy Porizky and Dana Rich and a sister, Nancy Hartling, of Gilford.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 4:00-7:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00AM also at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Noon on Monday, September 9, 2013 at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H.

Laconia——Ruth Hazel Beard, 93, of 29 Chapin Terrace, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2013 at Coastal Manor in Yarmouth, Maine. She was the widow of Charles W. Beard who died in 1992.
Ruth was born July 10, 1920 in Henniker, N.H., the daughter of the late Ashbel and Ina May (Stahl) Young. She resided in Rochester and graduated from Spaulding High School. She worked as payroll supervisor at Champlin Box Co. of Rochester, N.H. and was a payroll clerk at Judson & Dunaway Co., Dover, N.H. She moved to Laconia in 1961and worked for the Laconia School Lunch Program, the Lakeport National Bank, Indian Head Bank of Laconia and Fleet Bank before retiring in 1982.
Ruth was a Scout Den mother and Little Mother, was one of the first volunteers for the American Red Cross at Frisbie Hospital in Rochester, N.H. in 1942 during WWII. She was a member and officer of the Cocheco Grange #89 of Dover, N.H. and was also a member and officer of the James Farrington #7 Eastern Star of Rochester, N.H. She was a member of the Lakeport Woman’s Club for over forty years, a former member of the Laconia Business & Professional Women’s Club and the Business Women’s Association, the Belknap Mill Society, an Incorporator of the Taylor Home and was a former member of Waukewan Golf Club in Meredith, N.H. After retiring, Ruth enjoyed winters in Florida. She was an avid golfer.
Survivors include two sons, Alan C. Beard of Florida and N.H. and Barry W. Beard and his wife, Caron, of Pownal, Maine; two granddaughters, Molly Ann and her husband, David, and Abigail Rose Beard, all of Pownal, Maine; two brothers, Donald Young and his wife, Marlene, of Sarasota, Florida and Louis Young and his friend, Anita Cassily, of Rochester, N.H.; one sister, Lois Smith of Dover and one sister-in-law, Annette Young of Dover.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Ruth was predeceased by three brothers, George, Richard and William Young; a sister, Jean Young, a brother-in-law, Ralph Smith and a daughter-in-law, Jean Beard.
There will be no calling hours.

Laconia—Deborah L. Allegra-Morris passed from our presence on September 01, 2013 at Lakes Region General Hospital after an exhausting illness.
Debbie is lovingly remembered by her best friend and loving companion, James Truesdell; her daughter, Anna Maria Morris; son, Myles S. Morris; her daughter, Madelina V. Morris; grandchildren, Alyssa Morris and Kezia S. Morris; mother. Marcia L. McCann; brothers and sisters, Michael Sheran, Leicia Allegra-Bailey, Wendy Jo Davies and Mark W. Allegra. Missing her greatly, also, will be aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Deb will also be missed by many long term, loyal friends.
Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, George S. Morris.
Debbie was born in Concord, New Hampshire on July 24, 1971. She lived in Ossipee, N.H. and attended Kingswood Regional High School. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Laconia, N.H. to be closer to family. Here she became lovingly known as a “second” mom to many of her children’s friends and her own friends’ children.
She will forever be remembered as a fiery red head who had a mind of her own. Debby lived life on her terms and had a passionate soul. She was always quick with a story that was sure to make you smile, she surely could have written a book or maybe two.
The celebration of life will be held at her home at 220 Pleasant Street in Laconia on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00PM. All friends and family are welcome.
The family has requested that donations be made in Debbie’s memory to the charity of your choice.

Sanbornton—–Ann Helen Lance, 88, of 228 Steele Hill Road, died in her home on Sunday, September 1, 2013 after a long illness. Mrs. Lance was the widow of Donald Scribner Lance who died in 1985.

Mrs. Lance was born December 27, 1924 in Laconia, N.H., the daughter of the late Leslie and Mindy (Pike) Lane.

She had been a resident of Sanbornton for fifty years and had been employed as a registered nurse for the State of New Hampshire for many years. She was a devoted mother and spent her life caregiving to others in the community.

Survivors include her son, Daniel Leslie Lance, of Sanbornton, two grandchildren, Donald Lance III and Leslie Lance. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Lance was predeceased by a son, Donald Scribner Lance, Jr., in 199l.
There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 at1PM at the family lot in Oakland Cemetery, Meredith, N.H.

Gilmanton—–Elizabeth Jane (Waterson) Harms, 91, of 205 Sargent Road, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 in her home.

Mrs. Harms was born June 4, 1922 in New York, the daughter of the late Henry and Pauline Waterson. She was the wife of John G. Harms, who predeceased her. During WWII, when her husband was missing in action after parachuting out of his B-17 over France, Betty faithfully held to the knowledge that he would return home to her. He did 8 months later.

Mrs. Harms was a resident of Temple Terrace, Florida before moving to Gilmanton. Betty was a member of the Gilmanton Community Church and was a former member of the Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an awesome scrabble player. She had a fund of knowledge about so many things and was the family historian. Betty was an avid Corgi dog lover.

Survivors include her son, John G. Harms, Jr. of Lemont, Penn.; her daughter, Barbara D. Reed, of Gilmanton; seven grandchildren, Christopher Harms, Danielle Harms, Carmen Lorentz, CarrieAnn Pauliukonis, Courtenay Harms, Christopher Halla and Tyler Reed; two great grandchildren, numerous loving nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Jilly. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harms was predeceased by her husband, John G. Harms in 2007, her brothers, Raymond Waterson and Edwin Waterson and her sisters, Norrine Betjemann, Audrey Geartner and F. Margaret McGreevey.

Family calling hours will be held.

A Funeral Service will be held at 5PM on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Gilmanton Community Church, Gilmanton Corners location, Rte 107 & Rte 140 Gilmanton, NH. A pot luck reception will follow. Burial will be privately held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H.

Laconia—–Rachel B. Laramie, 82, formerly of 58 Warren Street, died at the Laconia Rehabilitation Center on Friday, September 6, 2013. Mrs. Laramie was the widow of Edmond “Shorty” Laramie who died in 1972.
Mrs. Laramie was born March 15, 1931 in Laconia, the daughter of the late Wilfred and Angeline (Philippon) Gagne. She was a lifelong resident of Laconia and had been employed at New Hampshire Ball Bearing for over twenty years.
Mrs. Laramie was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was a member and past president of the Ladies of Sacred Heart and was the Boss of Sacred Heart Bingo.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Daniel Kelley, of Sanbornton, N.H.; one grandchild, Re’nee Tonge and her husband, Craig, of Northfield; a brother, Bob Gagne, of Lakeport; a sister, DaDa White, of Florida and six nieces and four nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Laramie was predeceased by two sisters.

Mrs. Laramie was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was a member and past president of the Ladies of Sacred Heart and was the Boss of Sacred Heart Bingo.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Daniel Kelley, of Sanbornton, N.H.; one grandchild, Re’nee Tonge and her husband, Craig, of Northfield; a brother, Bob Gagne, of Lakeport; a sister, DaDa White, of Florida and six nieces and four nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Laramie was predeceased by two sisters.

Gilford—–Annette “Britt” Breton, 95, of the Belknap County Nursing Home, Laconia and formerly of 12 Liscomb Circle, Gilford, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
Annette was born September 30, 1917 in Lakeport, N.H., the daughter of Aime E. and Anna M. (Morin) Breton and had been a long-time resident of Gilford, N.H.
Annette graduated from the one-room school house which was located at the bottom of Breton Road, Gilford. Annette worked at jobs paying only $ 2 and $ 3 per week until she was employed by Maurice and Rachel Sawyer of Gilford to help them run Sawyer farm. As the Sawyer farm got smaller, Annette found other jobs to supplement her pay. She retired at the age of 62 in 1979.
Annette enjoyed crocheting afghans and other items which she joyfully gave to family and friends.
Survivors include three brothers, Leo Armand and his wife, Barbara (Cochrane) Breton, of Lake Royale, N.C., Robert Edgar and his wife, Mary (Murray) Breton, of Cape Coral, Fla. and Gerard Aime and his wife, Ruth (Sewell) Breton, of Sanbornton, NH; two sisters-in-law, Florence (Genest) Breton Allard of Newport Beach, Calif. and Rita (Cote) Breton of Gilford; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, two great-great- nieces and one great-great nephew and her life-long friend, Marion Harris, of Gilford. Annette was predeceased by her parents, one sister, Helene D. Breton, and three brothers, Leo A. Breton, Andrew P. Breton and Roland Breton.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Belknap Mt. Road, Gilford, N.H.

LACONIA—Arline Rowe Garger, 86, of 33 Cedar Street, died at Lakes Region General Hospital on Friday, September 6, 2013.
Arline was born April 23, 1927 in Laconia, N.H., the daughter of the late Valere and Catherine (Bryson) Vachon.
Arline had been a resident of Laconia most of her life and was employed as an executive assistant with Normandin, Cheney & O’Neil for over 30 years and eventually retired in NH in 1996.
Survivors include her brother, Lynn Vachon, and his wife, Nikki, of Moultonborough; one sister, Carol Hildreth, and her husband, Howard, of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, her daughter, Elizabeth Gray, and her husband, James, of Laconia, son, David Rowe, and his wife, Kathleen, of Westfield, VT and son, Casey Rowe, of Laconia and three grandchildren: Aliza Gray of Laconia, Jasmyn Gray of Laconia and Nikki Gaudreault of Goffstown as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Allan F. Rowe, Jr., a son Allan F. Rowe III and elder brother, Donald Vachon.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andre Bessette Parish at St. Joseph Church 30 Church Street Laconia, N.H.

Laconia—Deborah L. Allegra-Morris passed from our presence on September 01, 2013 at Lakes Region General Hospital after an exhausting illness.
Debbie is lovingly remembered by her best friend and loving companion, James Truesdell; her daughter, Anna Maria Morris; son, Myles S. Morris; her daughter, Madelina V. Morris; grandchildren, Alyssa Morris and Kezia S. Morris; mother. Marcia L. McCann; brothers and sisters, Michael Sheran, Leicia Allegra-Bailey, Wendy Jo Davies and Mark W. Allegra. Missing her greatly, also, will be aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Deb will also be missed by many long term, loyal friends.
Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, George S. Morris.
Debbie was born in Concord, New Hampshire on July 24, 1971. She lived in Ossipee, N.H. and attended Kingswood Regional High School. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Laconia, N.H. to be closer to family. Here she became lovingly known as a “second” mom to many of her children’s friends and her own friends’ children.
She will forever be remembered as a fiery red head who had a mind of her own. Debby lived life on her terms and had a passionate soul. She was always quick with a story that was sure to make you smile, she surely could have written a book or maybe two.
The celebration of life will be held at her home at 220 Pleasant Street in Laconia on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00PM. All friends and family are welcome.
The family has requested that donations be made in Debbie’s memory to the charity of your choice.

GILFORD – William A. Gelotte, 86, of Sagamore Road and Green Valley, Arizona, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 27, 1927 in Belmont, Mass., the son of Claus and Mae (Goldstein) Gelotte. Bill served in the US Navy during World War II. He was President and CEO of Claus Gelotte Camera Stores and also was one of the founding partners and Chairman of the Board for Meadowbrook Farm, LLC, now known as the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed hockey, baseball, football and was a general sports enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ellen K. (Kenerson) Gelotte of Gilford, NH, one son, Dana Gelotte and his wife Andrea of Gilford, NH, two daughters; Dianne Gelotte and her life partner Mary-Claire Paicopolis of Gilford, NH and Robin Gelotte of Gilford, NH, seven grandchildren; SSGT Joshua Gelotte and his wife Ashley, Danica, Sarah, Cameron, Kirsten and Tayla, all of Gilford, NH and Jessica of Methuen, Mass. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Steven Gelotte, one brother, Robert Gelotte and two sisters; Dorothy Trube and Nancy Corwin.

There will be no calling hours.

Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Mass. A celebration of life will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook, Gilford, NH.

Belmont—–Robert J. Brooks, Sr, 82, of 7 Witham Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Sunday, September 15, 2013.

Robert was born July 21, 1931 in Lakeport, N.H., the son of Frank and Mary (McMurphy) Brooks.

Mr. Brooks served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong resident of the Laconia/Belmont area and had been employed at Hebert’s Foundry and Scott & Williams.

Robert was CB radio operator and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed camping, hunting and clam digging.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Grace (Provencal) Brooks, of Belmont; two sons, Robert J. Brooks, Jr. of Bristol and Vern Brooks of Laconia; a daughter, Susan Cutler, of Laconia; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a sister, Alice, of New Hampshire. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooks was predeceased by a son-in-law, Allan L. Cutler, in 2010 and by three brothers, Henry Brooks, Joe Brooks and Frank Brooks.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 9:00AM-11:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

Laconia— Debra Ann Levoy, 55, passed away at the Laconia Rehabilitation Center-Genesis Healthcare on Tuesday, September 17, 2013.
“Debbie” was born May 31, 1958 in Laconia, the daughter of Robert E. and Claire J. (Lavertue) Levoy. She grew up in Gilford on Terrace Hill Road and graduated from Gilford High School in 1976.
Debbie faced many challenges during her lifetime. As a child, she suffered a brain tumor which was removed at Dartmouth-Hitchcock followed by radiation treatments. She had a second brain tumor when she was 42. In 2007, she suffered a stroke which took away the use of her left side. She had resided at Genesis since January, 2008. Over the years, Deb worked at the Big Banana, Irwin Marine and K-Mart. Her biggest joy was her daughter, Jennifer.
Debbie leaves her daughter, Jennifer Levoy, of Alton; her mother, Claire West, of Laconia; her sister, Donna Sanborn, of Alexandria; two brothers, Robert E. Levoy II and Scott M. Pelchat, both of Laconia; two nephews, Benjamin Sanborn and Joshua Sanborn and his wife, Faith, and two great nephews, Christian and Aaron Sanborn, all of Belmont. She was predeceased by her father, Robert E. Levoy, in 2004.

Gilford—–Esther M. (Harris) King, 86, of 127 Morrill Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
Mrs. King was born July 3, 1927 in Gilford, N.H., the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Muriel (Rand) Harris.
In 1953 she went to New York City and worked as an executive secretary at the Christian & Missionary Headquarters. She remained in the New York/New Jersey area until retiring in 1990. At that time she returned to Gilford, N.H. Survivors include her husband, Julian D. King, of Gilford; a sister, Marion Harris, of Gilford; a sister-in-law, Sue Harris of Gilford; a brother-in-law, William Roberts of Concord and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Harris, Jr., in 1983 and by a sister, Arlene Roberts, in 2001.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 10:00-11:00AM at the LifeQuest Church, 115 Court Street, Laconia, N.H.
A Funeral Service will follow the calling hour at 11:00AM also at the Church.
