Gilford—–Stephen C. “Lamoe” Lamontagne, of 320 Old Lake Shore Rd., died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Wednesday, September 19, 2012.

Stephen was born on April 22, 1953, in Laconia, the son of Henry “Mike” J. and Jeannette A. (Gray) Lamontagne. He was a lifelong resident of Laconia.

Stephen served in the United States Air Force. He owned and operated Steve’s Painting for many years in the Lakes Region. He was a member of the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post #1 for thirty eight years, Laconia Lodge of Elks #876, Laconia Rod & Gun Club, VFW Post# 1698 in Franklin, American Riders of Alton Motorcycle Association of NH Chapter #8. He was an avid golfer, pool player, loved softball and was a New York Yankees and Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. He volunteered in all the organizations he was active in.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Dion) Cormier Lamontagne of Gilford, his mother, Jeannette Atherton of Tilton, one daughter, Stacie LeBlanc and her husband Chris of Laconia, four step sons; Dana Cormier and his wife Mary of Virginia, Scott Cormier and his wife Missy of Mass, Joel “JJ” Cormier of Laconia and Sean Cormier of Mass., five brothers; Wilfred Lamontagne of NH, Ronald Lamontagne of Laconia, Donald Lamontagne and his wife Marcia of Gilford, Jon Lamontagne and his wife Donna of Laconia and Henry Lamontagne of Laconia, two sisters; Bridget Elliott and her husband Ben of Laconia and Brenda and Todd of Florida, two grandchildren; Talia LeBlanc and Matthue LeBlanc, four step grandchildren; Eli Cormier, Delia Cormier, Alice Cormier and William Cormier and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at St. Andre Bessette Parish, St. Joseph’s Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Laconia.

Laconia—Lucille F. James died July 5, 2012 at the St. Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Laconia, NH.
Mrs. James was born in Hartford, Conn. February 5, 1923 to Earle and Frances (Abbott) Ralph. She was raised in Edgewood, R.I. and graduated from Westbrook Jr. College in Portland, Maine. She married Stanley G. James Jr. in 1944. They brought up their family in Pride’s Corner and Kennebunk, Maine and Gilford, Jefferson and Laconia, NH.
Mrs. James worked in the office of Dr. Robert Lindholm. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Laconia, N.H. She loved being with her family, quilting, knitting, golfing and motorcycling. She also spent fifteen winters in Sarasota, Florida.
The family includes a daughter, Dana F. James, of Laconia; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Eric (Leslie) James of Scott Depot, W.Va.; granddaughters, Kerry Pinto of Dracut, Mass., Sarah James, Maunda Crosco and Annie James and grandson, Matthew James, all of W.Va.; three great grandchildren: Stephen, Olivia and Carissa Pinto of Dracut, Mass. and also cousins, Linda and Ron Fenerty of N.H. and Lucille Chapman, of Maine. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley G. James, Jr., in 1998, by a daughter, Kathryn Spicer, in 1975 and by a son, Eric Matthew James, in 2011.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial gathering will be held at Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk, Maine at a future date.

Laconia N.H.—–Violet H. (Frost) Lee, 103, of 227 Ledges Drive, Taylor Community, died at her home on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
Mrs. Lee was born December 30, 1908 in Trenton, New Jersey, the daughter of the late William and Madeline (Gething) Frost. She resided in Ewing Township, New Jersey for many years before moving to Laconia five years ago where she continued to live independently.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Lee, of New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Ralph Lee III and Bill Lee; a great grandchild, Max Lee, and a sister, Alice Mellor, of Trenton, New Jersey. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Lee, Sr., by her parents; two brothers, William Frost and Walter Frost and by two sisters, Henrietta Pope and Florence Maguire.
There will be no calling hours.

Burial will be in the family plot in Ewing Cemetery, Trenton, New Jersey.

Patricia was born November 24, 1945 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Mello) Francis. She worked until her retirement in food service for the M/S Mt. Washington on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Patricia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sorely missed by all her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, Peter Kyriakides, of Laconia; two sons, Peter Kyriakides, Jr. of Brockton, Mass. and Stephen Kyriakides, of W. Bridgewater, Mass.; three daughters, Christine Murphy, of Braintree, Mass., Karen Kyriakides, and her husband, Jay Richards, of Dorchester, Mass. and Kelly Kyriakides, and her husband, Joseph Mann, of Derry; fifteen grandchildren, Adam, Ashley, Danny, Jeremy, Jamie, Deborah, Danielle, Kaylah, Mary, Kristopher, Katelynn, Christina, Jay Jr., Hannah and Jazlynne and two great-grandchildren. Gilmanton—-Frances O. Austin, 91, of Gilmanton, died on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Golden View Health Care Center, Meredith, N.H.
Frances was born January 17, 1921 in Lynn, Mass., the daughter of William M. and Sylvia E. (Holford) Austin. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1939 and had been employed by Lynn General Electric for forty-one years. She had been a resident of Lynn, Mass. for sixty years before moving to Gilmanton in 1985.
Survivors include her four nephews, Alan Lines and his wife, Colleen, of Belmont and Glen Lines, Gary Lines and his wife, Betty, and Paul Lines and his wife, Cathy, all of Gilmanton. She was predeceased by her sisters, Edna M. Landry, Dorothy L. Austin and Iris S. Lines and by two brothers-in-law, Jack W. Lines and Walter J. Landry.
There will be no calling hours.
A private interment will be in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, Mass.

Robert “Huggy Bear” Sanville 7/4/2012

Franklin—– Robert “Huggy Bear” Sanville, 54, passed peacefully at his home, on July 4, 2012, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle.
Robert was born in Laconia, N.H. on November 30, 1957 to William and Florence (Russell) Sanville. Robert spent several years coaching Laconia Little League baseball and as an active member of Men’s Softball at Memorial Park. In addition to his love for baseball, Robert also enjoyed time with his family, NASCAR, bowling, camping, his Harley Davidson and his time long-haul and local truck driving. His greatest enjoyment was coaching Little League and watching his kids play softball and coach as adults. He was very proud of his children, they were his whole life.

Robert is survived by his wife, Wanda L. Taylor, of Franklin, N.H. and her daughter, Kim Fontaine of Aptos, Calif. He is also survived by his children, Craig Sanville, Heidi Therrien and Kylie Sanville all of Laconia, N.H.; his grandchildren, Ian, Mikaila, Kaegan, Kainan and Anthony all of Laconia, N.H.; his siblings, Gerald Austin, Bill Austin, Beverly Jenness, Dennis Sanville and Wilfred Sanville as well as several nephews and nieces and his beloved four- legged little girl, Ebby. Robert was predeceased by both parents, his brother, Thomas Sanville, his nephew, Peter Austin and sister-in-law, Rita Austin.
Calling hours will be held from 1:00-3:00PM on Sunday, July 8, 2012 in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.

Thornton—-David Ray Lewis was born January 23, 1935 in Batavia , New York as the oldest child of Rev. Asa Ray Lewis and Mrs. Charlotte Simkin Lewis. He grew up in Presbyterian church manses where his father served: East Pembroke , N.Y., Weedsport , N.Y. , Westhamptom Beach N.Y. , and North Presbyterian Church in North Tonawanda , N.Y. He graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1953, attended Earlham College in Richmond , Indiana where he met his future wife, Frances Walter, and both graduated in 1957. David and Frances were married at St. Mary’s in the Mountains near her home in New Hampshire in 1958. They then lived in New York City while David attended Union Theological Seminary and she taught school at East Woods School in Oyster Bay , N.Y. David graduated in 1960 and was ordained and received a call to become a minister in Croton Falls , N.Y. Their oldest three sons, Daniel, Stephen and Benjamin were born there. In 1964 they moved to Lafayette , N.Y. where he served the Columbian Presbyterian Church and had their youngest son, Timothy. In 1969 the family moved to East Aurora , N.Y. where David served as Associate Pastor until 1976. He and his wife joined a friend to establish a Christian Education servicing company (I.D.E.A.) which provided churches of five denominations (Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, Disciples, American Baptists, United Methodists) with a wide variety of programs until 1983 when David was called by The Program Agency of The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to become their Associate for Men’s Program and Leader Development. The family moved to New York City , and then, in 1988, a church merger took them to Louisville , Kentucky .
A significant part of Dave’s work in the Program Agency was writing and editing materials dealing with contemporary faith issues and Bible study. His particular interest in the Gospel of Mark led him to write three books and lead numerous workshops and classes drawing on this scholarship. The last of these studies was published late in 2011. During these years he served on the boards of The Association for Presbyterian Educators (who gave him their Life Achievement Award in 1998), Auburn Theological Seminary, and The Men’s Studies Association.
David Lewis retired in June of 1994 and the couple moved to Mrs. Lewis’ family home in Thornton , New Hampshire . He was very active in the Thornton-Plymouth area. David Lewis participated in two men’s groups, and provided leadership for several fundraisers focused on Africa . He represented the Presbyterian Church on the New Hampshire Council of Churches and the United Campus Ministry at Plymouth State University . Throughout the various aspects of his professional and volunteer work David was known for his creativity and imagination.
The Lewises have been a part of a summer community in La Have, Nova Scotia for over forty years. They have also traveled extensively to participate in service projects ( Madagascar , Kenya , Thailand , and Koinonia , Georgia and study programs in Mexico and Thailand .) They have traveled to visit family and friends in this country and abroad.
David Lewis is survived by his wife of fifty four years, Frances Walter Lewis; their children Daniel Lewis and his wife Sukanda (Ja) and son Henry of Bangkok, Thailand; Stephen Lewis and his children Gemma and Skylar Lewis of Vermont and Maine; Benjamin Langhinrichs and his wife Julie and their children Sara, Nathan and Matthew Langhinrichs of Ohio; Timothy Winslea and his wife Elizabeth and their children Jacob and Anna Winslea of Portland, Oregon; his sister Carol Lewis Stoneburner and her husband John and their son Stephen of North Carolina. A younger brother, John Edward Lewis died in 1977.
David Lewis died from cancer on July 4, 2012. Memorial services will be held at the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, 4 Post Office Square, Plymouth, N.H. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 10:00AM.
The family is deeply appreciative of the continuous support from extended family, friends (near and far), church members and Hospice. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, PO Box 86, Plymouth, NH 03264 for “Dave’s Mission Fund” which will enable new mission volunteers to experience a variety of different cultures.

Gilford—–Dr. Paul Czerwinski, 51, of 513 Belknap Mt. Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
Paul was born October 19, 1960 in Warsaw, Poland, the son of Edward and Roma (Chodzko) Czerwinski.
Paul served in the U. S. Air Force for twelve years. He had been a resident of Gilford for the past ten years and was employed as an anesthesiologist at the Lakes Region General Hospital. He was also a member of N.H.C. C. Cycling and the Gunstock Nordic Association.
Survivors include his wife of twenty years, Ann G. (Senay) Czerwinski, two sons, Michael C. Czerwinski and Benjamin P. Czerwinski, and a daughter, Sophie G. Czerwinski, all of Gilford, N.H.; his parents of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, his twin brother, Peter Czerwinski, and his wife, Deb, of Columbus, Ohio and Mark Czerwinski and his wife, Barbara, of Boston, Mass.; one nephew, Steven, and a niece, Brittani..

Travis is survived by his parents, a brother, Sawyer D. Mazzei, and a sister, Calleigh E. Mrs. Fielders was born February 3, 1953 in Laconia, the daughter of Amedee and Beatrice Irene (Martin) Nadeau. She was a lifetime resident of the Lakes Region and enjoyed travelling with her husband.

Gilford—-Carolus A. Laurier 93, formerly of Gilford, NH, passed away at Golden View Health Care Center in Meredith, N.H. on June 29, 2012.
Carl was born on April 1, 1919 in Manchester, N.H., son of Charles Albert Laurier of Quebec and Eva (Audette) Laurier. Carl was a nephew of Sir Wilfred Laurier, former Prime Minister of Canada who died in the year of Carl’s birth, 1919.
Carl grew up in Manchester, N.H. where his father worked as an Agent of the Canadian Government. After his father’s death in 1927, the family moved to Laconia, N.H.
Upon graduating from Laconia High School, he went to work at Scott & Williams. He became a machinist-tool maker, as well as Department Foreman and Superintendent. Over the years he learned metallurgy and mechanical engineering while working at Scott & Williams, Titeflex Corp. in Massachusetts and Kingsbury Machine Tool Corp. in Keene, N.H. where he was head of the Quality Control Dept.
Carl served as a selectman for the towns of Stoddard and Gilford, N.H. He was a member of the Congregational Church of East Longmeadow, Mass. and the Congregational Church of Laconia, N.H. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge of Keene and Laconia.
Upon his retirement in 1983 from Kingsbury, Carl and his wife, Susanna, moved to Gilford, N.H. Carl worked part time at Cooper Products in Laconia until final retirement several years later.
Carl had a love for music and as a young man learned how to play the coronet. He became an accomplished musician, well known throughout the New England area. He played in several bands during the Big Band Era filling in with many notable bands playing in the East. Carl also enjoyed jam sessions with his musician buddies. Carl and the band performed at the Winnipesaukee Gardens and at the Alton Bay Pavilion. He performed in the summer open concerts in Gilford, Wolfeboro and Center Harbor. He was the oldest volunteer member at that time being 89 years young. His music could be heard on old “78” vinyl records, as well as a couple newer CDs produced by some of the bands he played in.
Carl was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life. He was a skilled hunter and an exceptional marksman. Canoeing, hiking and fishing brought great joy to him. He was active in most all sports as a youth which gave him great physical abilities and stamina for his many outdoor adventures. Carl was part Native American of the Quebec Cree Tribe and he had a thorough understanding of the natural world. He practiced the ”Way of the Forest, Waters, and Creatures” and he possessed great reverence for all things in nature.
Carl is predeceased by wives, Blendena (Durand) Laurier and Susanna (Nelson) Laurier. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Ryll of West Springfield, Mass., Nancy L. O’Callaghan of Meredith, N.H. and a son, James A. Laurier, of Keene, N.H; three grandchildren, Christine Ryll, of Darien, Conn., Jeffrey Ryll, of West Springfield, Mass. and Wendy Murdock, of Buford, Ga.; a sister, Marcelline Ghiotti, of Fla.; two nephews, Joseph Ghiotti Jr. and Michael Ghiotti and a niece, Bonnie Borden, all of Fla.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held at a later date, followed by a celebration of his life.

Laconia—Dorothy Kimball Foster of Laconia passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Laconia, NH.

Born in Burwell, Nebraska on April 28, 1925, she was the daughter of Everett & Gertrude Kimball. The family moved often and Dorothy attended several schools but graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School in 1943. She earned a degree in Physical Therapy from the Massachusetts School of Physiotherapy in Boston in 1946 and was a physical therapy aide at the Laconia State School for over 11 years.

Dorothy was a member of the United Baptist Church in Lakeport, NH, a long-time member of Esther Rebekah Lodge #9 and The Hannah Frances Rebekah Lodge #41 and volunteered for over 20 years at Lakes Region General Hospital. She loved and enjoyed her family and friends. Her hobbies included reading, doing crafts, golfing, snowmobiling, and traveling. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

The widow of Robert S. Foster who died in 1981, Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Jane of Doverfoxcroft, Maine, and a daughter, Susan Bedard of Florida.

Dot is survived by her son, Stuart Foster, and his wife, Cynthia, of Gilford and two grandsons, Chris Foster and his wife, Jennifer, of Santa Barbara, CA, and Eric Foster and his wife, Jennifer Carsen, of Portsmouth, NH. She loved being the great grandmother of Ziah Foster of Santa Barbara and Lorelei Foster of Portsmouth and regretfully leaves behind a longtime, loving friend and companion, Paul Stroud of Belmont, NH.

The family thanks the dedicated staff of the St. Francis Home for the loving care they gave to Dorothy and her family during her final days.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service for the family will be held at the South Road Cemetery in Belmont, NH on July 16th at 11 am.

Laconia—–Judith E.(Baker) Murphy, 63, of 18 Natures View Drive, died at her home on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.
Judi was born September 26, 1948 in Braintree, Mass., the daughter of Harold R. and Angela R. (Carimanica) Baker. She resided in Bridgewater, Mass for several years before moving to Laconia 3 ½ years ago. She had been employed by Verizon for twelve years, retiring in 2009.
Judith was a member of the Evangelical Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of forty-three years, Edward G. Murphy, Jr.; a daughter, Kim Cutting and her husband Mark; two grandchildren, Matthew and Mia Cutting; three brothers, Robert Baker, Richard Baker and Ronald Baker; six nieces, 5 nephews and several very special great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and by a son, E. Scott Murphy.

Laconia—–Evelyn A. Melcher, 95, of 393 Center Hill Road, Epsom and of 44 Washington Street, Penacook and formerly of Laconia, died in Penacook on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
Evelyn was born April 13, 1917 in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of Herman L. and Amelia F. (Linnenkohl) Melcher. She lived in Nutley, New Jersey for several years before moving to Laconia in 1970.
Evelyn had been employed by the City of Laconia for six years in the Public Works Department and was a member of the Congregational Church of Laconia.
Evelyn is survived by many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Virginia H. Philip, formerly of Meredith, who died in 2006.

LACONIA – Thomas R. Waite, 73, of 28 Hillcrest Drive, died Saturday, June 23, 2012 in his home after a long illness.

Thomas was born in Bennington, Vermont, the son of Roger K. and Dorothy (Greene) Waite. He moved from Bennington, Vermont to Laconia fifty four years ago.

Thomas served in United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961.

Thomas worked until retirement as a molding manager for Molex Company. He also worked at Lunds Ski Company, and Laconia Needle Company. Thomas was a member of the Elks Club, Laconia Park Association, Pittsburg Runners Snowmobiling Club and the Belknap Snowmobile Association. He enjoyed most sports including bowling, softball, snowmobiling, basketball and sled dog racing. Thomas loved to travel.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Helen L. (Graves) Waite of Laconia: one son, Scott Waite, one daughter, Elsie Rapoza, three step sons, Dylan Graves , Kenneth Graves and Tony Graves, ten grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, one sister, Jill Waite, 2 nieces and one nephew. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie Waite and one brother, John R. Waite.

Memorial calling hours will be held from 2:00 PM – 4:00PM on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance. A memorial service will follow at 4:00PM also at the Funeral Home.

LACONIA – Lucian “Adrien” Masse, 83, of 65 Davis Place, died June 21st at his home after battling cancer. Adrien was born in Somersworth, NH on June 8, 1929. He moved to Laconia in 1945 and spent the rest of his life in the Laconia area.

Adrien spent many years doing farm work, landscaping, and lawn maintenance. In later years he was employed doing shredding and other office work. Adrien was a lifelong learner and spent much of his time acquiring new skills.

Adrien attended ABE classes and the Senior Center in Laconia. In his free time Adrien enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, bowling, socializing, and playing poker. He loved spending time at camp with all his friends. His infectious smile, and positive attitude made an impression on everyone who knew him.

Adrien is survived by his sister, Rose Masse of Penacook.

A celebration of his life will occur on June 28th at 1:00 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia. Burial will follow at Meredith Village Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakes Region Community Services, 719 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246, for summer camp scholarships.

Laconia——Marjorie Jacques, 90, of 175 Blueberry Lane and formerly of Sanbornton, died at the Laconia Rehabilitation Center – Genesis Healthcare on June 24, 2012.
Marjorie was born March 9, 1922 in Laconia, N.H., the daughter of Charles and Erma Colby
and was a longtime resident of Sanbornton. She enjoyed traveling with family across the United States and enjoyed music, poetry and scuba diving. She also enjoyed being around the water and swimming in the ocean, lakes and rivers.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Jacques and his wife, Linda, of Manchester, N.H. and Gary Jacques and his wife, Marjorie, of Warner, N.H.; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Theberge of Sanbornton and Shirley Faller of Gilford and four nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clyde L. Jacques, in 1978 and by a son, Clyde C. Jacques, in 2010.
A Celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held at Our Family Tree Restaurant, 927 Laconia Road, Winnisquam, N.H. on Sunday, July 22, 2012 from 3:30-6:30PM.
